By and large, text editing is not really necessary right away on the project sheet. Here we would have to take a conceptual approach. All element texts can be edited in the element properties. And after pressing Enter there should be a reaction from the OK button. This is much faster than looking for a mouse on the table and clicking OK. And if you need a line break, do it via Ctrl+Enter. You can also put a hidden symbol, like in LibreOffice (¶), to make it clear that there is a line break in the text. In general, there are many places where you could make a reaction to Enter by clicking on the OK button. I don’t really know how easily this is available in Qt. In general, this rule comes from programmers a long time ago. If you work on the keyboard, then it’s faster to finish the work from the keyboard than to look for the mouse. Pressing TAB multiple times doesn't help much.

I tried to understand the qelectrotech code, but I could not find where all the interface texts are located. Is it possible to somehow add all the texts under their IDs, and into a text file. I would try to translate most of it into Russian and Latvian.

They bought me an eplan at work. There I saw good ideas. But unfortunately I have been sitting for a week now and I cannot draw a single scheme.
The plan uses item databases. Simple elements have access to a large database. This database can be replenished from any manufacturer. You can also get a graphical execution for the schemes there. The base is very extensive and reports are made from it. There is only one problem - licensing. But I think the idea is good. I understand that this can add a lot of work, but we need to evaluate this opportunity looking in the future.

I also faced this problem. It turned out that when creating elements, you cannot copy outputs. Each output gets its own ID. And when copying, all pins have the same ID. I found out about this when I opened the element in a text editor.

I looked at the file qet_ru.ts There are lines with translation, and as I understand this translation is not confirmed. That is, no one made an effort to look and fix. I will send the patch file, please update it.

I work on other programs like quelectrotech, and there I gradually moved away from the symbols that I close as a symbol. Only the body of the symbol I make a symbol, and the pins, the properties of the symbol are not tied to the body of the symbol. I call such symbols universal. During the creation of the circuit, I can easily move the pins of such symbols to my needs, change the properties. For example there are many 3-pin sensors. But they are on different parameters. And why make them for each manufacturer? In the properties I put the type, manufacturer's name, change the pin numbers, the monitored parameter (pressure, temperature, flow rate, magnetic or inductive sensors, PNP or NPN, or voltage or current output). And my collection has shrunk significantly. The same is with power supplies, or inverters from different companies. Yes, the basic elements cannot be optimized in any way. But there are not millions of them.
A little worse is the case with the graphic representation of the parts for creating cabinets. I would like to move from simple squares to the real view of the details. And there is a great lack of a symbolic link to a part in a circuit with interception of all properties (manufacturer, type, basic parameters - voltage, current, input and output parameters), sometimes it is necessary to transfer these properties to these graphic symbols. For example a circuit breaker. We need not only the name, but also the current of the switch, sometimes the type. You have to write all this both in the properties of the part in the diagram and in the properties of the part for the cabinet.

These are the wishes from the circuit designer.

It is a pity that there is not enough time to upgrade the program. I would like to do all this myself. And suggest to the community.

I met with some kind of bug on the contacts. If the contact is subordinated to the coil, then everything is fine, and if subordinated any switch or fuse, the link to the switch comes over to the text of the switch room. I tried to create a new switch with the button properties, but the problem still remains.

Thanks for the help. But this is not the best option. The discovery of the properties of an element is indeed sometimes better done through Ctrl+E. But the window opens and you need to press TAB to get into the label string. But then you need to press TAB several times to get to the "apply" button. Is it really impossible to make a default focus in the correct place in the qt and when you press Enter you clicked "apply"?

I want to share my experience on other programs. There it is possible to arrange not small trees, but small icons of elements. Then you can not close folders with items to do less scrolling. With a tree view, you have to close folders so that you do not have to scroll through all open folders. I have 3 icons set nearby. The text is probably 6 pins and with cutting the text. It is quite acceptable, especially when you start a new project and you need to put a lot of elements.

At work, I have another program for drawing diagrams. There I use brown color to number the conductors, and for links to other pages I use blue color. I know that in practice it is very convenient. Less trained people are easier to navigate.
It would not be bad if you could change the font color here.
