Great, i am looking forward to it.
I do know what you mean about a lot work is needed.

Do we have a list of planned features, and is it kept updated?

---

Just an idea instead of writing a whole new pdf export function:
Still use the Qt provided one, and in its output file replace the text with links?
Could work if all xref are exported like @12F7 ; @ indicates it should be a link, in this case to page 12

... the link need not contain coordinate (F7) just landing on the right page is enough for the user who clicks the link and he can read the coordinate himself...

Just a quick idea, it probably need more thinking!

Back to the topic of headline:
When i double-click a folio ref link text i am taken to that location - awsome nomicons/smile
But IMO it is too much zoomed in.
I would prefer zoomed to fit page in screen so we see whole page, and directly see all cirquit around it.
The element is already marked with blue dot so easy to spot.
But that may be very personal and "only me"

Yes thank you for reporting, Calypso.

Scorpio, you keep track of bugs reported here on forum "manually", or is there another tracking system than https://qelectrotech.org/bugtracker/ ?

I mean should we create issues there for this bug and another for the possibly related https://qelectrotech.org/forum/viewtopi … 5806#p5806 ?

Video recording tip
For making videos smaller, plan the demonstration so only a part of screen need recording, and only record that interesting part of screen, and lower framerate, increase compression etc.  I found http://www.maartenbaert.be/simplescreenrecorder/ is a really easy and efficient recorder.
To crop and compres already recorded videos https://handbrake.fr/ is really nice.
Both are packaged in Mageia which i use, some distros neeed a little bit manual work.

Thanks Nuri, Iĺl try later nomicons/smile

And thanks for the list.  Tried their free app but it is limited. And my time and money is too limited to get and study their spec.

Yes "I know enough to screw up things"...
In several fields of technology... nomicons/wink  Muuuahhahaha nomicons/alien

Yes they are clickable in the dialog, but i wish them to be clickable directly on schematic, like the conductors referencing elements reflinks are nomicons/smile

The referencing in folio referencing symbols are double-clickable, and that takes you to the linked element immediately.
That is very nice nomicons/cool

But it is zoomed in so it is hard to what is around it- i have to manually zoom out every time...

Could it be changed so page is it fit to screen instead?

The element on case is highlighted anyway by that big blue dot so easy to find, and if i see whole page i see directly what it is about.

A change would of course be democratically decided.

...and then, can you also make references in cross referenced Master and Slaves be clickable and work alike?nomicons/cheerful

Pleease? <3

And, all mentionned links in this post, also clickable in pdf export.  Would be reeeally professional to give such "active" documentation to customer!nomicons/w00t

Hmm, for 1) i can in folio properties field enter both the short name and %id, i.e
Pump,%id

and in list of folios it show up as
Pump,1

which now is the content of %F and %folio

In the title blocks i now use formula %folio(%folio-total) so it will display
Pump,1(27)  if there is 27 pages.

And in references i use formula %F%l%c which expands to i.e
Pump,1E12

I think i am satisfied with that

OK thanks.
If i had the time it would be nice to learn this kind of hacking nomicons/smile

Basically it is really nice as it is, however i would prefer:

1) i want it to show both %F (short folio name) and %f ("pagenumber") if possible

2) omit a couple columns i do not use: Plant and Author

I think prefix should be set directly in the elment xml - at least for custom elements.
Optimally it should be possible to define different prefixes for different standards and a simple numeric setting in filo preferences select what standard to use: i.e
1) normal electric, relay = K
2) normal electronic, relay = RE
3) RDS 81346 - i think a relay there have three letters...
n) etc, freely defineable

It only happens if the newly dragged in element connects before i release the newly dragged in element.

It do not happen with autoconnect for an element that i first have laid down on the shematic, deselected,  (or copied pasted from another element) then selected and move so it autoconnects.

And yes "folio" "proper" "ties" i entered in folio properties just to hint where it comes from...

?

Edit: deleted, i was way off...  /EDIT

Here is a video.

I have made folio referencing signal flags that also display "Display / Protocol" and "Function" variables of connected conductor.  They display the problem in a nice way.

Everything goes OK, the two referencing elements "connects", then i drop a fuse and then connect it the new conductor gets the inherited properties.

BUT if i do not drop the fuse first, but directly orient it so it autoconnects without having been dropped onto schema first, then all connectors in the net gets the "Display / Protocol" and "Function" variables of that folios default properties - like it was a new connector.

(It is not the autoconnecting that is at fault, i could have rotated the first placed fuse and let it autocionnect instead of manually routing it - that would be same result)

Note that conductor Text is inherited OK.

I also tried with line colour, style, and width, and they were not treated the same (i forgot which was OK and which was not) There may also be more inheritance that may need be checked.

Ah! nomicons/smile
And i see i get a dialog asking what to clean:
unused templates
unused elements
empty categories.

... what is categories?

... it overwrites the conductor network it connetcs to with the folio preset parameters for new conductor!

(Also, undo do not completely restore everything in this case.)

This does not happen if the new element is first placed unconnected, and then moved to autoconnect, or a conductor is drawn manually: then it works as it should: the new connector picks up the parameters of the already existing connector(s) it connect to.

I guess this is a bug, but it could also be a feature i personally just do not like...

Once used elements are stored in the .qet schematic file.

Experimenting with modifying elements, or redesigning a schema, quite a lot of elements can gather in the file.

Those which are not used anymore are marked in red in Collections pane, project section, see picture.

I was thinking unused elements would get stripped off when saving, but that dont happen.

How can they be removed?

That was quick, many thanks nomicons/smile

Yes hooray, i got mail notification on changes of bug 79 nomicons/smile
And I can also confirm that new registrations come though now nomicons/smile

@bug 79 : the registration mail still say they come from admin@example.com 212.85.158.2 , and do not reach through my preferred ISP:s filters.  I also have never received bug status update emails - probably same cause.

For me fresh autonumber works partially, but as soon as i edit it or make name it manually, conductor label get invisible on shema.

In the dialog the content is OK, but on shema not visible;
i can click the emplty label there and enter sometning, but then it is shown empty again, byt what i entered there is in the textfield in the dialog.

Some issue with displaying it?

Great, thanks Rafael!

Is there some page/document with bug reporting and handling guidelines?

I am mostly guessing when i enter them.

And i see when bugs are resolved half of them have gotten the status "closed", half "resolved", so other operators seem confused too...

IMO, in Mantis tracker style if a bug is fixed ( = problem solved ) it should be marked "resolved".
-To distinguish from "closed" that can be used for "WONTFIX" or "ILLEGAL" and similar cases.

=> all resolved issues get a nice green colour nomicons/cool

PS  hope i am not "bugging" you too much  DS   nomicons/wink

Great nomicons/smile
Now running r4755
EDIT ... and i can not reproduce the bug  \o/
So i guess you can close bug 107 now nomicons/smile

Great.

You mean you fixed bug 80 ?

Do you want me to test again bug 79 ?
(never received registration mail to my main adress)

Thanks for the link, i will digest that later.

About "reports folio", I think we will change to "folio referencing".
I don't like to use the word "sheet" because it is not used in QET. I'm able to make this change in the source code but I have no time for this these days. Maybe next week nomicons/whistling

Today the actual elements are named "Sheet referencing" in english translation.
But i agree, if qet generally everywhere else use "folio" instead of "sheet" then it should be "folio referencing"

Then for clarity we also need to rename the elements folder to "Folio referencing".

I would also suggest to rename elements to "To folio" instead of "Next folio" and "From folio" instead of "Previous folio"
Because Previous and Next at least to me also could mean the folder before / after - in printed page order - which it is not here.

While at it, i suggest to move the referencing elements folder out of the electrical top folder, as it is not limited to electrical, but can be used for pneumatic, hydraulic etc too, so it should not hide deep in there (see attached screen capture)

Maybe create a new top folder "Universal" and put the "Folio referencing" folder there?
In future i envision there may come some some general symbols in other folders there, example an "Arrows" folder, "People", "Buildings", "Warning signs" etc

If you see other strange translations or missused words in the english GUI, please send me an email:
nuri@qelectrotech.org
I never use the english GUI, only the german one because I'm living in Germany and I maintain the german GUI. But I already saw that many sentences could be better in the english GUI.

Another question that could be interesting for the development of QET:
Do you know and do you use the standard IEC 81346?
This standard is the reason why the fields "location" and "plant" were implemented in the v0.51 devel.

Nuri, I will mail you regarding some other english translation suggestions within an hour.

No unfortunately I dont know much standards...
