Topic: “qelectrotech.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. MacOS

I just did download the ARM version of qelectrotech (0.100.0 r8131).

Drop it in the application folder.
And....

“qelectrotech.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

This file was downloaded on an unknown date.

If I leave it in the download folder and start it, it ask for access ( like always the first time ) and runs fine.
If I drop it in a subfolder of Application it doesn't run either.

Something wrong with a date?

Running Sonoma.

Doesn't matter with what kind of browser I did downloaded it; because it does works when outside the Applications folder, and I did download the M version.

B.t.w. The other, the intel version, gives the same result.

Did the previous version work for you? Maybe this issue comes from this commit?

I can't tell anything about that, because I did jump from a few versions earlier to the latest version.

OK, so can I come back to this commit if the previous OSX arm64 application has already worked for you?

A previous arm64 did work, but I don't remember which version it was.

Re: “qelectrotech.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. MacOS

I just downloaded the 20 of August version, and it has the same issue as in my opening post.

Directly in the Application folder it gives the App is damaged.
from the Download folder it works fine.
If I put it in another folder, like username/Applications/... and start it from there, then it works.

For now I use an Alias in the Apple Application folder then it works also ( of course ).

Side Note: I use Sonoma, maybe....

You don't have this issue?

Hi just downloaded the latest version today; the issue is still the case. Anyone?

Downloaded with Safari?

Yes, with Safari; but also with FireFox.

Same result. Same action required; placing the app inside my personal User application folder, then created a Alias to the system App folder and then it works.

Not knowing what application settings are set in your code editor, but is there a setting about Application targets? is it properly signed and notarized?
Did you use something like
xcrun altool --notarize-app --primary-bundle-id "org.qelectrotech.app" --username "your-apple-id" --password "your-app-specific-password" --file QElectroTech.dmg
?
