Hi all,
I've been beaten hard with this issue a couple of times.
Actually I'm using the autonumbering feature when developing a project for the first time. Really useful, that helps saving a lot of time.
After the first release, the schematic is implemented in real world and (more often than not) some changes creep in. But when adding/removing a page all next wires change their number (this is expected) while the wires in the cabinet are already physically labelled in the old way.
I would like to "finalize" the numbers on demand, i.e. substituting all "formula" fields with their expanded values to avoid future renumbering. Is there something similar already implemented somewhere?
Not quite what I was looking for, but it is far better than what I'm doing right now... and maybe I can get used to it.

first of all I want to thank you all for the project: drawing electrical schematics is quite a niche job and being able to rely on an opensource tool is a big relief.
I use qelectrotech infrequently, so I'm not that up to date with current dev status. Anyway it seems I'm losing too many time hiding wire labels, especially on common wires (see the attachment). The fact that this is rather convoluted and error-prone (actually I double-click on the wire, deselect two checkboxes and confirm) suggests me that I'm doing something terribly wrong.
Is this a common issue?
I read https://qelectrotech.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1937 but I did not understand if there is a shortcut or something else that can speed up this operation. If that is still issue (and I'm not alone) I would suggest to add a shortcut, e.g. using <backspace> when a label is selected, to toggle the visibility (in a similar way of what <space> does to rotate the label). Having just a "hide" action instead of a "toggle" action would be a huge benefit anyway, because in my workflow I often need to hide but I never have to show.

In short: the contact is cross-referenced properly but the relay position (i.e. `1-A2` in the video) is shown only after hovering it. Worse: that text is not even printed!
This is an issue only when a dark theme is used. Because of bug 175 I have the following code in my `$HOME/.qet/style.css`:

color: #000;
}
Is there another CSS selector I can play with to try to fix the initial style of that text?
In any case, independently from the dark theme aspect, I think changing the rendering behavior after hovering is "surprising".

I ended up using the following CSS fragment that seems to make the diagram editor perfectly usable:

Yes, it seems to be the dark theme. I opened a new issue because searching for "dark" returned no results.

If it's the case, try with the default kde theme.

thank you for your answer. If I understood you properly, we are talking about two different things. Please, correct me if I am wrong.
I'm not concerned about the grey background... I purposedly enabled it to view the problem. I attached a new image that hopefully will explain the problem better. On the left you'll see a threephase switch: it is the inter_sectionneur_tri element from the standard library opened in the element editor. On the right there is the same element rendered on my schematic. Why?

I'm using archlinux and I recently manually updated QElectrotech to 0.7.0 (the exact PKGBUILD I used can be found as a comment on its AUR page).
The symbols are now rendered partly in black and partly in white, hence with white background I don't see all the lines. I attached a screenshot with grey background to be able to see the issue. When printing to PDF, all seems to be rendered properly though.
Not sure is relevant but I'm using a dark Qt theme and my graphic card is an Intel HD 630.
