Topic: Need some advice as in what category should I post into?

Hello there,

This is my first post after just joining this discussion, so please forgive me and provide kind assistance if I have posted to the wrong subsection.

I am new here but a real enthusiast and loving this community so far. I have a background in coding and in technology and feel I could help with documentation, at least for starters.

As a new member in this forum and wish to share and gain some knowledge. I am looking forward to create my own discussion to resolve my query and gain some knowledge though I have taken part in various discussion which is definitely helped me a lot.

Also in what category should be taken depends on what factors?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Robert,
you are welcome.

Maybe you could help Integrated-Circuit see https://qelectrotech.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2770
and https://github.com/qelectrotech/qelectrotech-doc/pull/3

Best regards,
Laurent

Hello Robert,

Thanks for proposing your help! As you perhaps saw the documentation is built using the Sphinx-doc tool. Do yoy have some experience with it? What are you specific skills?

I myself am currently a little blocked at this time (you can see the commit history, I mostly worked on the actions). To be more specific, it is the chapter "Interface" that bugs me. It shows you the different icons to use in Qelectrotech. Problem is that I updated the image path as it was before messy, meaning that I need to change 200+ paths in the files. I am currently looking if Sphinx-doc can provide a global path ( like Qet/interface = _external/_images/en/qet_interface) so that editing image path would be easier now and in the future. I have asked someone on the sphinx-doc github discussion page but haven't got a meaningful response.

What we could do during that time is setup translations of the doc? By the way Laurent, I think we could create an account on https://hosted.weblate.org/about/  as they have a unlimited tier for open source projects/ or host our own weblate.
It would make the doc translation easier
