Wenn man mehrere Leitungen markiert hat, kann man nicht mit der rechten Maustaste auf die Leitung gehen und dann alle Leitungen auf einmal bearbeiten, das wäre eine nette Erweiterung.

When you have several lines selected, you can't right-click on the line and then edit all the lines at once, that would be a nice enhancement.

Das wäre wirklich nett!  I would appreciate that!

You can open several element editors at the same time, select the parts you want and then copy them into the new element you're creating.

Yes, that is working right now.  Your suggested solution would lead to the following Keyboard shortcuts:

  • CTRL-< (to switch into the desired other editor window, maybe this shortcuts is needed more than one time)

  • Mouseklick on the desired part

  • CTRL-c (to  copy the shape into the clipboard)

  • CTRL-> (to switch back into the previous editor with the new part in construction)

  • CTRL-v (to copy the shape from clipboad into the actual drawing)

  • Placing the shape with the mouse.

(``CTRL-`` denotes the Control-Key on Windows/Linux.  Mac-users have to use the Mac CMD key instead)

Whilst having a ready available shape on the workbench creates this workflow

  • Mouseklick the shape on the workbench

  • move mouse to the desired location

  • Mouseclick to place the part.

You can clearly see, that this is way more efficient, than the above workflow.  Now lets image, you want to insert the shape more than once.  Pressing CTRL-v to again insert the clipboard in a random place.  You have to pick it up and move it to the desired place without distorting it, etc.

Compare this, to inserting multiple connections.  Select the connector tool, place it on target 1 and click, move to target 2 and click, ...

This is so much more desirable, than finding an element, which incorporates the shape you need and to copy, switch windows, ...

Hello everyone, hope you are doing well.

I was using QET very much these last holidays and created a lots of drawings.

I fiddled a lot with the auto numbering capabilities of QET.

First of all, I find it annoying, to define a set of auto numbering schemes for each project I begin.  It would be more efficient, if you could save those rules as part of your program preferences.

Is there any chance, to save them in the program preferences, e.g. a personal config file?

Next, I defined ca. 15 rules for elements only.  I tried to define a kind of hierarchical rule names or at least alphabetical or numerical names.  None of that worked out.  When inserting a new element and I use the drop down menu in the "Auto numbering selection" panel, they are presented in random order, which makes it hard, to find the desired rule fast.  This is prone to errors. :-(

Than I do have a feature request in mind, but I am not sure, if this due to my crooked mind.  I am an mechanical engineer, not a trained electrician.   So please bear with me.

I think I have noticed, that the labeling for e.g. fuses are as follows (at least in Germany).  In a cabinet, there are often more than one level stocked on each other.  The fuses in the lowest level are labeled 1F1, 1F2, 1F3, ... whilst the fuses in the next level are labeled 2F1, 2F2, and so on.

I was not able, to insert a variable for the level indicator.

Imagine, that when you select a fuse related numbering scheme, an additional box would get activated.  It presents the level-number, you most recently selected, plus offers the +/- switches, to increase or decrease the number.  Depending in that prefix number, the counter is reset accordingly.  Wouldn't that be nice?

One more thing, that I was not able to get fixed by myself.

I draw my schemes to present the logic of any circuit.  Therefore, a plan of a cabinet often shows switches, motors and other elements, that are not build into that specific cabinet.  This kind of drawing style makes the path of the current/conductor complete, so you get the logic behind it.

In case, an external component is presented in such scheme, I want the label to contain the plant and/or location of that element to be shown, to make clear, that this belongs not to that cabinet in question.  I tried to use a rule like

=%{LM}+%{M}-M%{sequ_1}

and hoped, that I was able, to override the plant and location for that element, when editing its properties.  (The Selection Properties PopUp offers inputs for plant and location as well.)  But this specific information is not observed.  Instead the global values entered in the project properties are used. :-(

Is there any chance, to change this?

Have a fine day

Hello Everybody,

I'd love to see filled bullets and open circles as part of the drawing menu.  Just pick them from the menu and place them into your drawing of a new element.  That would be so handy.

Of yourse, you could create a circle via the ellipse tool and you could also fill that circle with a color to make it a filled bullet.  But grabbing them as ready to use items from the workbench make life so much easier and would speed up the drawing process a lot.

What do you think?

Bonjour Scorpio,

thanks for your help.

I installed this python and it helped (a bit).  I am still not able, to start the plugin from within the QElectroTech application, but when I start it by hand, it runs and creates the terminal blocks.

Hoorrrray! :-)

... continued, as I was not able to upload more then one attachment.

I'd wish, I could upload some more images, as I prepared another one, which shows one of the folios, where I was extensively playing with connections, in the hope, to get one working with the plugin.

If I missed anything important, feel free to give me some hints.

Hi everybody,

thank you all for this marvelous piece of software.  I was looking for software to draw my electrical wirings in my workshop and found qeletrotech.  I am working an a MacOS (10.15.4).  I found it on Thursday and now my actual project has over 10 folios and nearly 200 parts.  Learning qelectrotech was easy to me and I am impressed by its functionality.  So very well done!

I also tried the Terminal Block Generator plugin.  I found the menu entry and clicked on it.  A new window opened, saying, that I had to download the package "pip3 install qet_tb_generator", which I did.  (In fact, I am running Python 3.7.7, installed from Homebrew.)

Next I again clicked on the menu button, but still the same notice appeared. :-(

I was able, to start the qet_tb_generator from the shell/terminal.  It starts and asks for a .qet file to process.  (I can also add a filename, while starting it from the shell prompt.  Then the file seems to be loaded directly.)

In either cases, the application starts its own window and presents the help, how to operate it.  I can also click on the "Create Terminal Blocks" button, but the best I can get, is an error message, that I first have to select the terminals.  But there are no terminals, there is no window, to select from, ...

I tried to read all the related articles in this community forum, except those on french, which I am not able to speak.  Pardon.

There where some issues in the past, regarding installation and usage from MacOS; the most recent ones originating from 2018.Neither of the given solutions where appropriate to my.  (E. g. I don't have any /Applications/Framework/Python ..., or whatsoever was suggested. :-()

This is the best, I can get, see attachment #1.
