Topic: Suggestion: split program and element collection

Because:

1) Less to download and install for friends/collegues/customers who only want to view/comment/adjust drawings.

2) Less work for scorpio, no need to recompile package when only element collection have been updated.

I think it could be set up so users could use rsync, svn or something else, maybe by script to update their local collection.
-On that subject: it it possible to set where QET looks for then QET collection?

Re: Suggestion: split program and element collection

With Debian and Ubuntu the packages are separated, but their compilations are done at the same time:

[12:02:36] laurent@debian:~$ apt-cache search qelectrotech
qelectrotech - éditeur de schémas électriques
qelectrotech-data - symbols needed for qelectrotech
qelectrotech-examples - examples files for qelectrotech
qelectrotech-dbgsym - Debug symbols for qelectrotech

2) Less work for scorpio, no need to recompile package when only element collection have been updated.

Heuu, no. I don't rebuild all packages for only new element, uhu.
Time for build all packages need ~ 45 mn to 1H 20 with all eight cores in 100% (only 100% cpu when compile).
The problem is not only processor, need a very faster SDD (like 960 pro nvme) for extracting Debian chroots packages or a ramdrive, and also a bigger upload than my little adsl, but it does not depend on me.
