Topic: QET v.0.5 (Qt5 based) eats my RAM!
Hello!
I'm using QET since v.0.3 under Linux Mint Debian Edition and Arch Linux.
Today, on Arch Linux I've updated QET from v.0.4 (Qt4 based) to QET v.0.5 (Qt5 based), using recent qelectrotech 0.5-1 PKGBUILD from AUR (Arch Users Repository).
All went fine: +2 hours compiling on a Intel Intel Core2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz with 2 GB RAM, +3 hours on an Atom 450 1.66 GHz with 2GB RAM; but finally it works...
But now, when I run QET 0.5 my RAM is exhausted: QET v.0.5 eats ~900 MB!
On the first run, QET v.0.5 RAM usage reached 1,5 GB while program was loading collections and elements, taking a long time to complete this process (I supposed QET was rebuilding its database).
Now, QET starts fast but RAM usage is very high: at least 880 MB without opening any diagram... Qt5 sins?
At my work, I'm using Arch Linux with spectrwm on an very old (circa 2002) Celeron single core 2.1 GHz with 1 GB RAM, running simultaneously QET v.0.4 and a bunch of programs: tabbed web browser (qupzilla), file manager (qtfm), pdf viewer (qpdfview), office suite (libreoffice), multimedia player (vlc); RAM usage rarely exceeds 700/800 MB, swapping is very very rare...
Should I stay in 0.4 version and renounce to update to QET v.0.5 due its very high RAM usage?
Best regards,
DanielH
P.S.: forgive my bad english, I'm argentinian and only speak spanish.
