Topic: Convert PDF Schematic to QET file
Hey new user here, trying to learn the ropes. Are there any methods to take a full set of electrical schematics for a machine, and have it converted into a editable QET file?

Hi and welcome!
Unfortunately there is no way to convert a PDF schematic directly into an editable QET project. A PDF only contains lines and text, not electrical objects (elements, terminals, conductors, cross-references), so QET can’t rebuild a real schematic from it.
What you can do:
Redraw it in QET. This is the realistic way for a machine schematic. You can insert each PDF page as an image on a folio and use it as a guide while you place elements and wires on top, then delete the image.
Reuse graphics for symbols. If the PDF is vector-based (not a scan), you can convert it to DXF (for example with Inkscape) and import parts of it in the element editor to create custom symbols. The result is only a drawing, not a connected schematic.
Redrawing takes time, but you end up with a real QET project: automatic numbering, cross-references, terminal strips, BOM, etc.
