Topic: labeling connections, whats the QET way of doing this?

as a long time kicad user i was expecting there to be something analogous to "net labels"
in kicad you can name a Net by connecting it to a net label with that name.
this lets the user easily design a device with many connections without having to actually route them in schematic view

but it seems like QET has a different way of working.
i can name a conductor, but it must be an actual wire on the schematic, not just a label
as a work around i have created an element that is just a recangle with a terminal and a text item,
there must be a better way to do this....

(i would upload some images but the forum accuses me of being a bot if i attach images..)
