Topic: PPA for 0.9-dev installation procedure ?

Can anyone provide a procedure to install PPA for 0.9-dev ?

I am using Ubuntu Linux.
I do not have the knowledge required to install from the  github page.

What I have done:

a) navigated to https://qelectrotech.org/download.html

and from there to https://github.com/qelectrotech/qelectr … r/releases

b) downloaded Source Code in tar package

c) extracted files from tar package:  qelectrotech-source-mirror-9-dev-2022-04-22

d) executed script:  packaging_script_Debian_Ubuntu_Windows.sh

To all prompts I answered “YES” , with this exception:
“Would you like to build Window packages n/Y?”    // to this I responded NO

e) re-booted my PC

result: No success.
My installed QeT version remains V 0.8

Thank you to anyone who can help me gain this knowledge and make a successful installation.

(duplicate message, please pardon)

@scorpio810,

Success!
I now have installed ver 0.9, with much sincere thanks, and my warmest regards.
I can see the improved quality immediately.

Best wishes to you and all the QelectroTech team!

Take care about the terminal strip feature, this is actually in development and still have bug and can be changed / breaked  during all development.
For the rest it's ok, like 0.8 or maybe better nomicons/smile

Thank you Joshua for this helpful information.

On my low-resource PC, this later version (0.9) is noticeably faster in response.

If you use it at work see my post:

Thank you Scorpio810.

I would strongly prefer to use QeT at work.

Presently I am not employed due to health problems.

I find however that QeT is not accepted by employers because open-source solutions are not trusted.
And few industrial/commercial employers in the U.S. are aware of QeT, trusting instead a CAD solution such as AutoCAD.

They do not trust solutions they do not know and understand.

For my own purposes I would use QelectroTech exclusively.
For electrical diagrams QeT is superior in my opinion.

If (when) I am able to use QeT profitably (commercially) in the future (which is my intention) then you can expect to see further donations and financial support for QeT development.

I am working to create English-language user-documentation (in Sphinx format) to offer as  contribution to the QeT team. I hope that such contribution may help the QeT user community to grow.

I decided recently to focus this effort on auto-numbering, as a beginning-point.
Your instructional videos have been very helpful.
I download and collect them as reference.

I believe that QelectroTech is important and very much worthy of support.

Scorpio810,
Again, thank you for this helpful information.
I obtained a language translation and your post is helpful.
I will retain this in my QeT notes.

I intend however to obtain a more powerful PC in the coming week or so.
Certainly QeT runs far better on a low-resource PC than any CAD solution would. :-)

The wonderful thing about using Linux is of course that previously-used PCs which are not sufficient for current Windows versions are abundant, and will run Linux very well.

Wishing good health and all success to the QeT team!
