QElectroTech → EN : Help, suggestions, discussions, ... → File erased
I am using Qelectrotech 0.5-b and the program closed by itself, like it does sometimes. and the file is now epmty (0kb my computer tells me) and the program crashes when i try to open it.
Does someone has any idea how to solve this problem. I really don't want to start again.

It bugged while saving, so isn't there a temporary file that stores the file while erasing the original, in which i could recover all the information?
No tempory file sorry, but I used to increment backup on big projects or when I test functions, or hacking by save as to increment name.

You remember what action you make for to Qet crash?
No action, I just saved. but it was crashing a lot before that. mabe it's because i am puting a lot of images in the file. mabe it's too heavy for the program I don't know.
Or mabe I should try to reduce the resolution of the pictures
Ok, i see.
When you import a image it is converted to base64 in code and in your project .qet, and yes isn't a perfect solution for a lot of big image.
Other problem, image converted is weighty than original.

XML is not a format for storing images..
You can but you do prefer drawing element yourself. 
If you use 60 images and in high resolution in your project, perhaps possible crash..
i tried this test in new project with ~ 90 folios and paste the same 270 Kio image in every folio....
i don't see any problem, but i use a machine with 16 Gio of ram, big AMD eight core (FX8350), on GNU/Linux full 64 bit, now project 85Mio weighs... Perhaps saving the same test on Windows 32 Bits machine can make a empty project..
The only bug i found : if we don't save this project before, after putting all images :
interface no longer responds and don't ask menu to select folder and file to save, and you must kill Qet process..and lose your work!
sometimes it takes very long, even halting other programs so be patient, and yes i have them about once every day in simple windows.
but it is a free program so why complain.
