Hello jhonathan,
Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for attaching the CSV file, which made it easy to find the cause.
There are actually two bugs in that export:
The strange characters. Your wire numbers start with an en dash – (for example –010 or –24VCC), not a plain hyphen -. Since 0.200 (Qt6), QElectroTech writes the CSV in UTF-8. Version 0.100 used the Windows ANSI encoding. Excel opens UTF-8 files as ANSI when they have no BOM marker, so the – shows up as –. That’s why it worked in 0.100.
The extra last line (0xa78cffb090) is a separate bug: an internal memory address was being written to the file.
A fix for both is ready and will be in the next nightly build. The file will be saved as UTF-8 with a BOM, so Excel reads it correctly, and the bogus last line is gone.
Until then, here is a workaround: don’t double-click the CSV. In Excel, use Data → From Text/CSV instead, set File origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8), then delete the last line.
One more thing I noticed: your file contains about 26 entries that are just – with no number. These are wires whose text is only the prefix, so you may want to check your auto-numbering settings for those.
Regards,
Laurent
By the way, I’m very interested by yours SEW elements – could you send them to me? I use a lot off SEW servo drive at work.
