Topic: Beginners questions about elements for electrical switchboard diagram.

Hi,
I am trying to make descriptions for few electrical switchboards.
I am using elements from QET Colleection / Electric / Graphics / Thumbnails for assembly plan / Thumbnails for mounting plate / Hager
As they seem to have editable visible labels.

1.I can't find some elements, can you please help me or suggest substitutes
1.1 isolator switch (3p / 4p) , ( I can use 3p/4p circuit breakers )

1.2 Three  "leds" for lines voltage in 1 unit package

1.3 Surge Protective Device (3p)

2. Why elements in Thumbnails for assembly plan / Thumbnails for mounting plate does not have connection points ? It would be useful to mark general directions how line go through switchboard.

3. What are smaller general versions of
project0+embed://import/10_electric/98_graphics/99_assembly_plan/01_thumbnails_mounting_plate/99_divers/circ_breaker_x3.elmt
for ?

3.1 I would use general versions but they miss even more elements ( residual current device ? )
3.2 Why they are smaller in size ?

TIA, and sorry for my English, I am new to QElectroTech and English terms used in electricity.
Regards,

Hello matkor, and welcome to QElectroTech!

Your English is fine, no worries.

0. Use the development version
I recommend you switch to the development version (0.200.x, Qt6): it is much more up to date than the stable 0.100, both for the symbols/elements collection and for the features. You can find it here:
https://qelectrotech.org/download.php
Your projects stay compatible, but keep a backup before opening them with a development build.

1. Missing elements
[...] I don't think the embedded collection has a 3p/4p isolator switch, a 3-LED line voltage indicator or a 3p SPD in the Hager thumbnails for now. Using a 3p/4p circuit breaker as a substitute is a good workaround.

You can also search the contributed elements, which are not shipped in the default collection:
https://download.qelectrotech.org/qet/e … index.html
(see 10_electric, 60_energy, 71_rgie...). Download the .elmt you need and put it in your custom collection.

Otherwise, copy the closest element to your custom collection and edit it with the element editor, or ask for it in the elements repository:
https://github.com/qelectrotech/qelectrotech-elements

2. No connection points
The "Thumbnails for assembly plan / mounting plate" are drawings of the physical devices (front view on the DIN rail), not schematic symbols. That is why they have no terminals: they are not meant to be wired with conductors.
3. Smaller "general" versions
[...]

If you make new elements, feel free to share them here, they can be added to the collection.
