DescriptionDescription
I encountered repeated crashes when trying to open specific QElectroTech project files. The application closes instantly without showing any error dialog. Other projects open normally, so the issue appears to be related to the content or structure of certain project files.
Steps To ReproduceSteps to reproduce
1. Start QElectroTech - poratble version.
2. Go to File › Open.
3. Select an affected project (.qet file).
4. The application immediately crashes.

Expected behavior
The project should open normally without crashing.

Actual behavior
The application closes instantly after selecting the project file. No error message is shown.
Additional InformationAdditional information
  • The crash happens only with some projects; others open correctly.
  • The affected projects were created in previous versions of QElectroTech.

Thanks for attaching the project and the log, they made this quick to find.

The crash comes from a contact that is not linked to a coil and has a text using %{label} (your project has one, on folio 3). It was introduced on 21 September. The fix is in review: https://github.com/qelectrotech/qelectrotech-source-mirror/pull/1234

Once it is merged, the next nightly build opens your project.
