In version 0.7 I could Export to dxf and open the drawing in Autocad. With 0.8, 0.9 & 1.00 this does not work. It seems the file is created as seen in Windows Explorer, however, if I try to open it Autocad opens with a prompt on the screen almost like it is expecting a value. If I press Enter then the prompt disappears and the screen is blank. I have also tried to open the files in Turbocad but it will not open. I downgraded Qelectro Tech to version 0.7 and the export worked but I have drawings saved in version 1.00 and now they wont open because of the newer version. Anyone else having this problem or know of a way to solve this.

I work in a company that manufactures, assembles and commissiones industrial steam and hot water boilers. The program is very intuitive, I am satisfied with it.

I created my own quite extensive collection of elements, using DXF to QET also the corresponding symbols for the mounting panel, etc.

The problem is in exporting to .dxf. Customers are increasingly demanding plans in an editable form. that they are allowed to download QET completely free of charge. is kind of "not interested".

I am forwarding an e-mail that I sent to the creator of the converter, but unfortunately it did not receive a call from me."

The result of experiments with various services that will convert from PDF to DXF or desktop applications like Autocad converter leads to the conclusion that some will make a pretty decent file for Autocad (with limit 1 file per day if not registered), however, text is not text, but always a group of points and it is very, very difficult to edit.

For potential volunteers able to get the QET project saved as DXF to a suitable level, including text, this is an incentive to focus attention.

se trouvent les projets Qelectrotech et les DXF exportés avec les PDF imprimé depuis les DXF.

J'ai exporté mon projet fa3010 et un projet du répertoire "example" de QelectroTech:

Qelectrotech -readytouse se plante avec le projet fa3010, mais pas avec la version installée.

J'utilise la version QElectroTech V 0.70+a375424c0d79751d3 sous Windows 8.1

J'ai joint un programme CAD pour ouvrir les DXF, veuillez lire FreeDraft_lis_moi.txt.

if we take a look at the exportdxf.cpp file, a lot of the basic drawing types are there and maybe need some fine tunning on function of the changes that have to be made for the dxf export.

How is a dxf file constructed :

The file is devide into sections, each section is starting with a 0, SECTION, 2 HEADER

The key code in a dxf file = 0
followed by the command = SECTION
The code 2 give section name.

The linse 58-59 have to be removed, the are not neaded and telling autocad that it is not a acad created dxf file.

A dxf file have 7 sections, so we need to created for each section a function to file it.We don't need to use them all, just the one we need.

The following functions have to be created :

I we look to the existhing code, everthing is put into the dxf file like it is.

The major change that have to be made is that the titelblocks and elements used i a qet page has to be writen to the block section and be used in the entities section, it is the same way you are using them in qelectrotech.

  • <properties> : some parts belong to header section of a dxf file

  • <newdiagrams>: if this the basic titelblock definition then i belong to the block section an will be used in the entitie section with a "INSERT" dxf type

  • <elements> : use in the entitie section with a "INSERT" dxf type

  • <shapes> : these will be directly used in the entitie section

  • <collection> : these will alle be placed into the block section and used in the entitie section with the "INSERT" dxf type

DXF coding exist of to lines i a dxf file, a code line and a value line:

  • code 10 (11-18) : x coordinate

  • code 20 (21-28) : y coordinate

  • code 30 (31-38) : z coordinate

For example a line :

  • 10 : value : x start point

  • 20 : value : y start point

  • 11 : value : x end point

  • 21 : value : y end point

We created layers to separate qet sections:

  • Titelblock

  • Elements

  • Text

  • Shapes

  • ....

Everithing of a titelblock wil be drawn on the layer "Titelblock" and so on for the other types.

LTYPE table

This table is used to converd the QET line types to acad line types

A symbol with connectors is insert at coordinates x,Y and the connector is relatief to these insert points (this is for both systems the same) so for drawing a line between to connectors we have to calculate the exact positions of the two connectors and the draw a  polyline with 3 x,y points

Im was using new version 0.70. I just want to know if the DXF export feature are not available due these version is not official released.
i can export to JPEG, PNG, etc, but when i send to DXF, the only drawing that was exported is the title block.

I want to use 0.7 version because there is the feature to add to elements more information, like we have a database, with manufacturer name, part number, etc.

Issue:  I added a Folio Summary to the Project - which is automatically created as Sheet 2.
When I try to File | Export and choose DXF format, this happens....


i. if Sheet 2 is included (selected) for export, QET crashes.
     In this case only sheet 2 dxf file is created and contains titleblock and border but no list.
     No other sheets are exported

ii. If sheet 2 is not selected then the remaining sheets are all exported ok.

EDIT: 10 Sheet project

Anyone else having this problem?
