Summary0000346: Bug in the representation of cross-references for contacts
DescriptionWhen creating a cross-reference between elements in the current development version, the contact numbers are displayed correctly on the folio. However, after saving, closing, and reopening the project, the contact numbers disappear from the cross-reference representation, even though the cross-reference link itself remains active. It applies to all types of contacts: NO, NC, changeover contacts...
Steps To ReproduceI create the contact > create the coil > link the contact to the coil > and select the contact link (e.g., 13-14) > then I save and close the project > When I reopen it, the reference number has disappeared, but the link remains.

I couldn't submit the form while selecting V0.200.1, so I left it blank, but it is related to that version.

Hello djodeli14,

Thank you for the clear report and the before/after screenshots, the steps reproduce it exactly.

Cause: when a contact is linked to a contact group of its master (13-14 for example), the terminals of the contact are told to show the numbers of that group. That setting only lived in memory: a placed symbol's terminal saves only its position and orientation in the .qet file. On reopening, the link and the chosen group were read back correctly (that is why the cross-reference stayed), but nothing gave the numbers back to the terminals. It affected NO, NC and changeover contacts alike.

Fix: the numbers are now applied again from the saved group each time the project is opened (commit de9f4ecb0 on master). The same code is now used when the link is made and when it is read back.

Your existing projects do not need to be redone: the chosen group was always saved, so opening them with a build that contains this commit shows the contact numbers again.

Could you test with the next nightly build and tell us if it works for you? If so, I will close this issue.

Regards,
Laurent
